Actor Refutes Anti-Vaccine Stance Following Lending His Voice To Controversial Pandemic Feature

Liam Neeson has provided his voice to a recent film that challenges the safety of vaccinations and praises ex- health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Film's Contentious Origins

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the film is adapted from a well-known publication co-authored by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for assertions that Covid was caused by a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

Her writing partner, a producer, has penned books with conspiracy-prone figure a known commentator. The producer recently posted praising Neeson's participation in the film.

A Firm Statement

The team of Neeson have provided a response pushing back against implications that he subscribes to anti-vax beliefs.

"We all acknowledge that misconduct can exist within the medical sector, but that cannot be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the statement explains. "He never has been, and cannot be described as, against vaccines. His extensive work with Unicef reinforces his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."

It added that the actor did not shape the film's narrative and that questions about its assertions are best addressed to the creators.

Key Claims In the Feature

In the film, the voiceover spoken by Neeson includes several controversial points:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "blind obedience" to government bodies.
  • It posits that "science has become dangerously politicized."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured saying, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
  • It takes aim at stay-at-home orders, saying they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • Regarding Covid vaccines, it cites a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Historical Controversy and Ongoing Issues

The documentary includes a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was later the subject of a correction by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Last month, RFK Jr directed the national health agency to change its long-held position that there is no link between vaccines and autism. This assertion is repeated in the film, even with a recent study from the World Health Organisation confirming no evidence has been found.

An Earlier Record of Support

Differing from the documentary's narrative, Neeson has previously expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Previously, he described vaccines as "an incredible human success story," noting that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."

The film finishes with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This is not the conclusion of our narrative. Rather, it is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
