Bills' Bay Day Gives New England Path to Top Spot - Best of NFL Week 10

Week 10 again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' mantra that draws so many fans into the National Football League
That result could have created opportunities for the New England Patriots to move back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their eight and two rivals
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to address
The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Miami team ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and display
MVP Josh Allen only got the team's initial first down in the third quarter and first points in the final quarter - admittedly Miami had ten days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was crucial too, with Cook and company registering just 86 yards, their lowest of the season and just over half their 161.5 yard season average
Then there were the three crucial ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area meaning a nine-minute possession yielded no points, and his final quarter fumble that Miami converted to seven points just two plays
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defense and Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the composed, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this year
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this season so the jury's out on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three 8-2 squads in the league, all AFC sides, but are they the best?
One could find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis really for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their total twenty-four wins achieved against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Denver
Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their primtime success in Buffalo seems like a statement
Their pair of losses came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive wins, just like Denver, from that point - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to get ready was significant
Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely deserves point for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to steer his side to victory
The defensive unit is reliable and first-year rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different ball carrier to exceed 22mph this season on his initial touchdown
Although you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favourites to finish with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, although a significant contest against the Bills
Visiting the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Kansas City to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for first place but face the same problem) and also the Packers on the schedule
The Indianapolis also play the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There is a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is open for a surprise top seed in the AFC
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Next Week Clash
Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different 8-2 sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Los Angeles, who each scored 40 burgers to go to 7-2 before next week's Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in LA
Both have secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a contest
Both could easily be without a loss as too - particularly the Rams as their two defeats occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning kick with the final play blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a score
The Seahawks were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are truly among the top teams in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date
Player of the Week - Taylor
Taylor could be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Berlin - running for 244 rushing yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding an additional 42 {receiving yards
