Baroque Works is poised to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced recently that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bentham. This character can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve made contact with with their right hand. The actor, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that role reimagined as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and cartoon version.

This performer will work alongside a number of new cast members tasked with bringing the group to reality, including head Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, a talented actress as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the cast as the ruler of the desert kingdom.

Though the role is a key figure of the organization, the individual won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Considering the second season likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Their mix of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the character. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.

Netflix's live-action One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
